In short: We collect the information needed to provide online quoting and manufacturing services, fulfil orders, operate accounts, take payment, deliver parts, provide support and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal information. We do not use customer Designs for marketing, promotion, benchmarking or training machine-learning models unless the customer gives us separate written permission.
This Privacy Policy explains how Pretty Fast Limited ("Pretty Fast", "we", "us") collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information when you use our website, create an account, request a quote, upload or create a design, place an order, contact us or otherwise use our services.
We are a New Zealand company and comply with the Privacy Act 2020. "Personal information" means information about an identifiable individual. Information about a company is not personal information unless it also identifies an individual.
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
A Design is not always personal information. It becomes personal information where it identifies, or can reasonably be linked to, an individual. We treat Designs as confidential whether or not they contain personal information.
We collect personal information:
Where we collect personal information about you from someone else, we will take reasonable steps to notify you as required by information privacy principle 3A of the Privacy Act 2020, unless an exception applies. This may occur through an account invitation, delivery message or other service communication that links to this policy.
If you give us another person's information, please make sure you are authorised to do so and tell them that their information has been provided to Pretty Fast. This does not replace any notification we are required to provide ourselves.
We may use personal information to:
Our consumer or trade classification is an administrative inference only. It does not conclusively determine a customer's legal status or whether the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies. You can ask us to review or correct the information used for that classification.
We will not use your Designs for marketing, promotion, benchmarking or training machine-learning models unless you give us separate written permission. We will not make that permission a condition of placing an order.
We may use aggregated or de-identified website and service-usage information where it no longer identifies an individual. We will not include customer Designs in that activity without the permission described above.
You can choose not to provide personal information, but we may be unable to create your account, quote, manufacture or deliver an order, process payment, provide credit, respond to a request or give you access to some website features. Where information is optional, we will aim to make that clear.
We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:
We require service providers and subcontractors to handle personal information only for authorised purposes and with appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Some service providers may store or process personal information outside New Zealand, or allow authorised support personnel outside New Zealand to access it. Where an overseas provider acts only on our behalf, we require it to protect the information and not use it for its own purposes.
If we disclose personal information to an overseas person or organisation for its own use, we will comply with information privacy principle 12 of the Privacy Act 2020. This means we will use a legally permitted basis, such as comparable privacy safeguards, an enforceable contractual arrangement, or the individual's informed authorisation where appropriate.
Provider locations can change. You can ask our Privacy Officer for current information about the countries in which our principal providers store or process personal information.
We use cookies and similar technologies where needed to operate account sessions, remember selections, maintain security and support website features. We may also use analytics tools to understand how the website performs and how visitors use it.
You can control cookies through your browser and any cookie controls we make available. Blocking essential cookies may prevent account, quoting, checkout or other website features from working properly. We will identify any non-essential advertising or cross-site tracking technology before using it and provide any notice or choice required by law.
We may send operational messages about your account, quotes, orders, payments, delivery, security or support. These are service messages, not marketing messages.
We will send commercial electronic messages only where you have consented or where the law otherwise permits. Marketing messages will identify Pretty Fast and include a functional unsubscribe facility. We will action an unsubscribe request within 5 working days. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary service messages.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure and other misuse. These safeguards may include access controls, authentication, encryption where appropriate, system logging, backups, staff and contractor confidentiality obligations, and security requirements for service providers.
No internet or storage system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
We keep personal information only for as long as it is required for a lawful purpose.
By default, we retain each Design file for 90 days after it is uploaded or last used for an order, whichever is later. You can change the retention period in your account settings. When you change that setting, the account interface will state whether the change applies to existing files, future files or both.
When a Design file reaches the end of its retention period, we remove it from active customer and production systems within a reasonable time. Copies may remain temporarily in secure backups until they are removed through the normal backup-rotation process. Backup copies are not used for ordinary business purposes. If a backup is restored, the applicable deletion rules will be reapplied.
We may retain limited information for longer where reasonably required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, security, insurance, dispute and legal-claim purposes. Business and transaction records are generally kept for at least 7 tax years where required by New Zealand law. Closing an account or deleting a Design does not require us to delete records that we must, or reasonably need to, retain for those purposes.
We may retain de-identified information where it can no longer reasonably identify an individual.
You may ask for access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to delete information, close your account or review an inferred consumer or trade classification. Deletion is not an absolute right, and we may retain information where we have a lawful reason to do so.
Email privacy@prettyfast.co.nz with the subject line Privacy request. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity or authority. We will respond to an access or correction request as soon as reasonably practicable and within 20 working days, unless the Privacy Act permits an extension.
If we do not make a requested correction, you may ask us to attach a statement of the correction sought to the information. Access may be withheld only where the Privacy Act permits.
If a privacy breach has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals as soon as practicable, unless an exception in the Privacy Act 2020 applies. We may also contact you about other security or privacy incidents where doing so would help you protect yourself.
You must be 18 or older to create an account or place an order. Our services are not directed at children. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account or provided personal information without appropriate authority, please contact us. We may close the account and delete the information unless we have a lawful reason to retain it.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, providers, practices or legal obligations. We will publish the updated policy on our website and change the last-updated date. If a change is material, we may also notify account holders or provide notice through the service. The version in force when personal information is collected will apply to that collection, subject to any later use or disclosure permitted by law.
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for privacy enquiries, requests and complaints.
